This moose showed up because home never really leaves you.
I grew up in New England, wandering through woods that felt bigger than life and sitting by quiet lakes, listening to loons call back and forth across the water. A recent trip back flipped a switch. Suddenly it was pine-filled air, winding roads, and that familiar feeling of being watched by the forest… probably by a moose.
The moose felt like the perfect ambassador. Big, awkward, oddly majestic, and completely unbothered. It carries that New England energy. Tough, calm, a little mysterious, and perfectly content doing its own thing without needing approval.
This drawing is a nod to where I came from and the spirit that shaped me. Equal parts wild, stubborn, and peaceful.
