This piece is inspired by my time in Belize, wandering through the remnants of ancient Mayan cities. Though the journey was brief, it opened my eyes to how extraordinary the pre-European Americas truly were — civilizations alive with art, mystery, and spirit.
To me, nothing captures that strength and mystique better than the jaguar. During our trip, my family visited a wildlife rescue where we met one face to face. The deep, rumbling growl that echoed from its chest felt ancient — like the voice of the jungle itself — and it’s a sound I’ll carry with me forever.
