A friend of mine in New Zealand told me I had to draw a Ruru — the Morepork owl, native to Aotearoa. In Māori culture, the Ruru is a guardian spirit. A protector. A presence that watches over those who travel.
And that hit me. Because if there's one thing that captures the essence of New Zealand for me, it's the feeling of being on a journey — open roads, new places, that restless pull toward the horizon. So I thought: why not make something for the people who feel that too?
This is the Ursus Atelier Guardian Owl. For the wanderers. The adventurers. The ones who thrive when the road is new and the destination isn't quite certain yet.
